alley

I been living uptown,
an alley on king street,
Got a nice fridge box,
Keeps me warm at night.

Nothing in my bag,
but a dry pair of sox.
Got an old guitar,
to sing the blues.

People walking by,
what do you see,
A homeless guy,
You could be like me.

I was once like you,
Then my world turned upsidedown,
Now I live in a box,
In an alley uptown.

Don't think you are better,
My God loves me the same.
I have heart and soul,
Even if I live in this place.

valentines

Today I see the hearts,
the flowers do tell,
Of a lover,
at least for a spell.

I had a love one time,
she loved me througholy,
then cancer took her away
my heart fell to my knees

I will never risk
love again
there is to much pain
I will stick to gin

A hangove is easy
compared to heartache
a difference between
a day or two, and weeks

railroad hobo

I jumped these cars,
been all around.
thought to change,
yet still the same.

went to Tulsa,
done the Salsa,
in Idaho,
done the mashed potato.

danced across this land
to any kind of band
still not happy
must be somewhere for me

country heart

to write a country song, your dog died, your honey left, your moms in prison, or there is a train running somewhere and you want to be on it.
I seen her on the street,
shocked clear to my feet.
NEVER knew a beauty so rare,
She had green hair.

She blew me off that night,
Said I wasn't the one.
still pining after all these years.
I loved her, but she was done.

I never met another,
My heart was held by her,
My love goes on,
but she is gone.

I need anoth brew,
Love for me is thru.
Think I will get a dog,
they don't break the heart.
